Laos Accommodation

Whether you build your trip using our bite-sized Laos tours or choose from our range of suggested Laos holidays, during your trip with us you'll stay in Laos accommodation that reflects the character of your surroundings. You'll experience a wide variety of styles and standards of Laos accommodation, for example you might spend a night with a mountain tribe, in a comfortabel city hotel, or in a simple bungalow on a tropical beach.

We use a hand-picked selection of authentic hotels with lots of local character, and therefore steer clear of international chains. We personally ensure that each property has the right combination of features such as cleanliness, location, friendly staff and good service.

We use a pool of Laos accommodation in each destination, which means that if one hotel is full, we are able to offer another of equal standard. Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send you a comprehensive list of the hotels you'll be staying in.
 

Special Stay Accommodation

Location and comfort are the two most important factors when selecting suitable hotels for this accommodation category. Our choice of hotels in this category are priced slightly higher than our standard accommodation but it offers you something extra special. 

Our special stay accommodation offers you either a unique view of your surroundings or a little something extra in terms of atmosphere or quality of facilities. We can upgrade in the larger towns including Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Please ask one of our travel specialists for tips on where to add a special stay to your itinerary. 

 

Comfortable Accommodation
- Category 3  
- Standard for LaosTravel Plan

A warm and inviting atmosphere, small-scale charm, cleanliness and a favourable location are our top priorities for this category and this includes most of the accommodation that we offer. A sense of privacy and some comfort are also important during travel, so we'll book a private room with an en-suite bathroom for you as well.

You can expect a mid-range hotel as in our Vang Vieng trip or a mid-range guesthouse where you will stay during our Khong Island trip. The accommodation in this category is generally selected for its surroundings, helping you to get the best out of the destination you are visiting. 

Simple Accommodation 
- Category 2

Sometimes, when deciding where to stay in Laos, there aren't too many options, or the accommodation isn't as important as what you'll experience when you step out of your front door. Our simple accommodation category offers you modest, yet reasonably comfortable accommodation options. 

You will still have your own room even though the accommodation is more simple than some of our other options. For example, during our Mahout trip you will be staying in a lodge at an elephant camp. Similarly, when you do our Luang Namtha trip you will be staying in a simple eco-friendly guesthouse that is situated in a small, authentic Lao town. 

Basic Accommodation
- Category 1

In this category you really will be going back to basics! If you are trekking in Laos then you will be staying in a local hill tribe hut. You will be sleeping on a mattress on the floor with a mosquito net. The facilities are basic and are shared with other travellers. However, this gives you a real insight into the lifestyle of the hill-tribes and although basic, it really is an experience!

An example of our basic accommodation is our Luang Prabang trek where you will spend the night in a mountain village, surrounded by dense jungle. The location here is spectacular!
