Laos holidays 2 Laos Highlights and Tropical Beaches
Highlights: Bangkok - Luang Prabang - Bolaven rainforest and waterfalls - Ko Chang island This Laos holiday is perfect for travellers who want to see as much of the country as possible and want to end their trip on a relaxing sandy beach. Start off in booming Bangkok where you'll board the overnight train to the border. Via the capital city of Vientiane you’ll travel on to the green hills of northern Laos. Here you’ll visit Luang Prabang which is considered to be one of the most enjoyable cities in Laos by many travellers. Wander through the cheerful streets, visit the evening market in search of souvenirs and visit one of the many colourful temples. You’ll also make a short trekking and stay overnight with the local hill tribes. After Vientiane, you'll head south. Southern Laos is known for its green rainforests, plunging waterfalls and the mighty Mekong River. Starting in Bangkok you’ll travel through the green rice paddies to Laos and across the highlands to the serene town of Luang Prabang where you’ll be woken to the sound of chiming temple bells. Then it’s into the jungle to train as a mahout and help wash the elephants. In Hanoi you’ll get your first taste of the energy of Vietnam before boarding a wooden junk and sailing through the magical world of Halong Bay. Next it’s the green fields of Sapa and the harrowing tunnels of Cu Chi in Ho Chi Minh City, before sailing to Cambodia through the Mekong Delta. Via the Killing Fields of Phnom Penh you’ll wander among the overgrown temples of Angkor Wat before ending up back in Bangkok almost a month later. Laos holidays 4 Impressive Indochina
Highlights: Bangkok - Luang Prabang - Hill tribe trek - Elephant riding and bathing - Bolaven rainforests and waterfalls - Dolphin spotting - Tuol Sleng Museum - Killing Fields - Angkor Wat This Impressive Indochina trip is the longest of our Laos holidays and will take you to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in under three weeks. After a short stop in Bangkok you’ll set off on a journey through Laos, beginning in Vientiane, with its French colonial influences. Then, you’ll head to Luang Prabang, voted by many travellers as ‘most’ fun destination in South East Asia. Experience life among the elephants as a mahout and enjoy a trek through the rice paddies with spectacular views across the mountain valleys. Across the border in Cambodia, you'll travel down the mighty Mekong River to the historic capital Phnom Penh, where you'll spend a couple of days before continuing on by boat to Siem Reap, home to jaw-dropping Angkor Wat. The trip ends back in Bangkok, but if you fancy spoiling yourself with a couple of days on the white tropical beaches at the end of your Thailand, Laos and Cambodia itinerary, you can extend the trip with a short stay on the island of Ko Chang.
