Mystical Angkor Wat, dolphin river and a turbulent history: independent Cambodia tours

When thinking about Cambodia travel, you may recall one of the wonders of the world; the mystical Buddhist temple complex Angkor Wat. However, it's more likely that you'll remember the brutal war that almost tore the country apart and the amazing resiliency with which the country has healed after such traumatic events. The Tuol Sleng Museum in Phnom Penh and the Killing Fields bare proof of the atrocities that occurred during the war.

Visit the Mekong Delta and the famous Tonle Sap Lake by boat and explore Cambodia's leading cities, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. However there's more to Cambodia than the large attractions that have gained fame and notoriety. Smaller, less familiar areas actually offer some of the most interesting travel experiences. Go for a bike ride through traditional villages hidden deep in dense jungle or relax in a hammock on a peaceful beach. Enjoy a cold drink on a Cambodian terrace by the Mekong, while watching monks stroll by in their colourful orange robes. Genuine interest and a warm smile on your part are sure to open up the hearts and mouths of the shy and modest Cambodians. After the module 'Island in the Mekong' we can arrange a transfer for you to the Cambodian border and you can add the Mekong module that ends in the capital Phnom Penh.
