It is born out of the idea that there are hardly any independent travel options available for more adventurous travellers. Our trips are very individual, so we're able to use small-scale, authentic accommodation with local character and warm welcomes. With Rickshaw Travel, you won't find large group coach tours but instead you'll travel by trains, buses, private car, planes, and sometimes minibus. Flexibility and independence are fundamental, which is why our Laos travel specialists organise as much or as little as our clients wish. The landscape and scenery that Laos has to offer is well worth the effort. One highlight for me was taking a car trip between Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang where the countryside is absolutely breath-taking.Luang Prabang has a serenity to it that is a great contrast to the many busy cities in Asia. I found I could easily spend a week here getting to know the locals, trying the different restaurants and browsing at the night markets. I loved mixing things up with a day trip to the Kuang Si Waterfalls and attempting the rope swing! |

The second the plane touched down in Luang Prabang and I caught a glimpse of the tiny airport, I fell in love with the place. Flying through the trees by rope swing into the thundering Kwang Si falls, bathing an elephant armed with bucket and brush in the Nam Kham river, and strolling around the night market of Luang Prabang are just a few of the memories I have of Laos. |
