Day 2: Vang Vieng

On the second day of your Laos tubing experience, you could start the day with a typical French breakfast; French bread and café au lait. Vang Vieng, located on the banks of the Nam Song River and hidden between immense green hill tops, has the look and feel of an idyllic country town. You're sure to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere here in the countryside, as well as the impressive views of the surrounding limestone formations.

Vang Vieng offers many exciting outdoor activities for the active traveller such as tubing, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, swimming in caves and hiking. However there's also plenty to do for those who would like to 'Bo Pein Nhang', or 'take it easy'. You might like to visit the local Organic Farm where you can help support their many local community projects by buying their organic Mulberry Wines and teas. At night you'll find a cosy atmosphere and friendly people in the many restaurants and bars in the main street. Have a seat with a good drink and chat with fellow travellers or watch a movie being projected on a screen.

Day 3: Vang Vieng - Vientiane

After breakfast you'll make your own way to the Vang Vieng bus station just outside the city centre. Here you'll board a public bus to Vientiane. While travelling along the winding mountain roads you can feast your eyes on cascading rice paddies, towering karst mountains and simple villages. You'll see Laotian women hanging their laundry to dry and smiling children waving and running after the bus. This is how more than 75% of Laotians live.
