On arrival in Pakse by public bus from Cambodia or by bus or plane from Vientiane or Luang Prabang, a private transfer will be waiting to take you to Tad Fane. You'll travel straight through the southern Laos countryside past villages, temples and farmland. The well paved road will change into sandy roads as you near the green Boloven plateau. The resort that you'll be staying in is hidden amidst the dense rainforest across from two foaming waterfalls. The water plunges 200 metres down a gorge; an amazing sight. You'll be able to enjoy your green surroundings from your veranda or while on a trek through the natural wilderness.

Day 2: Boloven plateau

The Boloven plateau, in Southern Laos, lies approximately at an altitude of 1200 metres. Because of this the climate on the plateau is pleasantly cool, even during the summer. During our summer months you can expect rain showers from time to time that will give the entire area a wonderfully green hue. The villages on the plateau are only accessible via sand trails; this is one of the reasons why the area is so genuine. Many minorities live in the area such as the Laven, Katu and the Alak. The people here are known for their hand-woven materials and tattoos in the face, both heavily influenced by the Khmer.

The eco-lodge you'll be staying at is located amidst the Dong Hua Sao natural reserve. The resort organises hikes through the area known for its many waterfalls and diverse flora.

Day 3: Boloven plateau - End of southern Laos travel module / Pakse

Most clients make their own way back to Pakse, if however you're planning to continue with our Islands in the Mekong module, then you'll be collected from your hotel this morning and transfered back to Pakse, and start that module this morning.
