The Laos tubing module begins in Luang Prabang and ends in Vientiane, although you can also travel in reverse. You'll travel by local bus. |

Day 1: Luang Prabang - Vang ViengThis tubing Laos module begins early this morning at around 7am when you'll be picked up at your hotel. Our driver who will take you to the Luang Prabang bus station where you'll board the local bus to Vang Vieng. Be sure to bring along some food and drinks for the road trip; the drive should take approximately 7 hours. You'll drive through dense jungle and travel along high mountain passes. You'll no doubt find this part of Laos to be the most breathtaking. The views of the green valley are spectacular!On arrival at the Vang Vieng bus station, you'll arrange your own transportation to your hotel which is beautifully located on the banks of the river. You'll spend two nights in a modern hotel with a swimming pool for refreshing dips. This evening you'll be able to enjoy a delicious meal and a cold drink while watching the sun slowly set behind the karst mountains. |

Day 2: Vang ViengStart the day with a typical French breakfast; French bread and café au lait. Vang Vieng, located on the banks of the Nam Song River and hidden between immense green hill tops, has the look and feel of an idyllic country town. You're sure to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere here in the countryside, as well as the impressive views of the surrounding limestone formations.Vang Vieng offers many exciting outdoor activities for the active traveller such as tubing, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, swimming in caves and hiking. However there's also plenty to do for those who would like to 'Bo Pein Nhang', or 'take it easy'. You might like to visit the local Organic Farm where you can help support their many local community projects by buying their organic Mulberry Wines and teas. At night you'll find a cosy atmosphere and friendly people in the many restaurants and bars in the main street. Have a seat with a good drink and chat with fellow travellers or watch a movie being projected on a screen. You'll feel as if you've just parked at a drive-in cinema. |
Day 3: Vang Vieng - VientianeAfter breakfast you'll make your own way to the Vang Vieng bus station just outside the city centre. Here you'll board a public bus to Vientiane. While travelling along the winding mountain roads you can feast your eyes on cascading rice paddies, towering karst mountains and simple villages. You'll see Laotian women hanging their laundry to dry and smiling children waving and running after the bus. This is how more than 75% of Laotians live.This tubing Laos module ends on arrival in Vientiane. You can continue on your trip through Laos with the module Vive Vientiane. |
